제11장 비교 (2)

 

비교의 중요 구문: as - as ...와 비교급, 최상급을 사용한 관용적 표현이 있다.

특히 원급과 비교급으로 최상급의 뜻을 나타낼 수도 있다.

 

1. as - as ...의 관용적인 용법

He ran as fast as he could. = He ran as fast as possible.

 

2. 비교급의 중요 구문
It's getting colder and colder. (점점 더)

I can't eat any more. (더 이상 ...않다)
The older I get, the happier I am. (...하면 할수록 더 -하다)

 

3. 최상급의 중요 구문
Seoul is one of the largest cities in the world.
This is the second tallest building in Korea.
Tom can run (the) fastest of all the boys in his class.
= No (other) boy in his class can run as(so) fast as Tom.
= No (other) boy in his class can run faster than Tom.
= Tom can run faster than any other boy in his class.

(3) (부정주어 ... + so + 원급 + as -)가 최상급을 표현, (4) 두 배나 많은 책, 

(5) (비교급 + than any other + 단수명사)가 최상급을 표현

2. 다음 괄호 안에 주어진 말을 알맞은 형태로 바꿔 빈 칸에 쓰시오.
