I Think I’m Ready for a New Challenge.

 

Manager: We’ve had a lot of applicants for this position,

but yours is one of the best resumes I’ve ever seen.

Job Applicant: Thank you. I’ve been very lucky.

I’ve worked in some good companies in some very good departments.

Manager: You certainly have. Personnel, product design, advertising...

the only thing you haven’t done is marketing.

Job Applicant: I think I’m ready for a new challenge.

Manager: You earned $45,000 as a personnel manager,

but then you left that job for a product design position for $42,000.

Job Applicant: Yes, I’ve always liked to be creative. I really enjoyed product design.

Manager: Why do you want to go into marketing?

Job Applicant: I think marketing will give me a chance to use all the skills I’ve acquired.

Manager: Good. Thank you for coming in. We’ll be in touch with you within next three weeks.

부장: 이 자리에 지원자가 많은데, 이 이력서가 제가 본 것 중 제일 좋은 편이군요.

지원자: 감사합니다. 좋은 회사에, 좋은 부서에서만 쭉 일해 왔으니까, 운이 좋았던 거죠.

부장: 정말 그렇군요. 인사부, 제품 디자인, 광고… 마케팅 빼고는 다 해보셨네요.

지원자: 뭔가 새로운 일에 도전할 때인 것 같아요.

부장: 4만5천 달러 받고 일하던 인사 부장 자리를 그만두고 4만2천 달러 받는 제품 디자인 부서로 옮기셨네요.

지원자: 네. 전 항상 창조적인 일을 좋아했거든요. 제품 디자인 일은 아주 재미있었어요.

부장: 마케팅 일을 하고 싶어하는 이유라도 있습니까?

지원자: 마케팅 분야에서 일하게 되면 제가 그동안 습득한 기술들을 모두 발휘할 수 있을 것 같아서요.

부장: 좋습니다. 와 주셔서 감사합니다. 3주 내로 연락 드리겠습니다.
